Silent Keys
Silent key refers to an amateur radio operator who has passed away. The term can be abbreviated 'SK' in morse code (cw) and other digital modes. The key in the term refers to a telegraph key, the instrument that all early amateur radio operators, as well as many contemporary amateur radio operators, have used to send Morse code. The Snohomish County Hams Club would like to recognize the following past club members whose contributions have made our world inside and outside the hobby a better place. Though their keys may have fallen silent, their message continues on in all of us. now. Note: Call signs in Blue are a link to more information about the Silent Key. If you know of a former club member you would like to see recognized, please contact any board member.
